Lets review.

In the movie GLADIATOR, Russell Crowe played
a ROMAN General named Maximus, who was under
the leadership of (CAESAR) >> Marcus Aurelius.

MARCUS AURELIUS was a fascinating living legend.

Maximus (Crowe) was a Hero-General who led an army of
20,000 men under the Mentorship of his King, Marcus Aurelius.

Within the first 15 minutes of the movie, you see Maximus
made to make a decision between SERVING his old friend
who ultimately killed CAESAR or to DENY riches and more
fame and stand on the side of right.

What happened was this.

CAESARS son kills Caesar and asks MAXIMUS to stand by him.

So there is Russell Crowe having to decide between "easy"
money, fame and glory or to TAKE the side of integrity.

The REST of the movie we see Maximus seek vengeance.

BUT not the spiteful ugly vengeance, but instead, the
kind through justice.

NOT only did the bad guy kill Maximus' leader (Caesar), but they
also killed Russell Crowes FAMILY as well.

their mutual benefit.

** CROWE remains TRUE to his FRIENDS and to his superiors.

Finally, at the end of the Movie we see Maximus offer HIS LIFE
for the good of the Roman people, dying in battle and being the
VICTOR against evil, tyranny and injustice.

saw a man willing to SACRIFICE his money, fame
and pedigree, for something BIGGER than himself.

We watched THE DONLAD, broken and small, back in 1992
who had LOST over 1 Billion, make NICE with the banks
and RISE yet again, even with his arrogance.

And as Americans, we also applauded.

Then there is SIMON COWELL of American Idol.

Yet again someone WILLING to sacrifice HIS JOB,
money and gain, ONLY to be his most authentic self.

IN SPITE of whatever anyone thought!!!!

No matter what, SIMON is SIMON no matter what!!!!!

Keep in mind, how did SIMON know year #1 whether
Americans would jeer and boo him or love him?

He didn't.

Which is why America fell in love with him.

SIMON WAS JUST DOING SIMON just as The Gladiator
stood for JUSTICE and what was right MORE than he envied FAME,
wealth and fortune.

My lesson is this. In the era of slime and roadkill
being sold on-line as a business, what sells even more
and with more equity are the INTANGIBLES.

INTANGIBLES (stuff you can't touch) make people KINGS.

Things like

** Your reputation
** Your value system
** What do you stand for and HOW can we tell?

GREAT people often WALK AWAY from things
others can't resist.

Intangibles make people LIVING Legends.

Intangibles ATTRACT people and strangers to you.

Look at the intangible AURA of an Oprah Winfrey,
a Tom Hanks or a Michael Jordan.

REMEMBER when Oprah fought the American
BEEF association back in 1997?

Wow!

It's not always what people SELL that makes them
wealthy.

Often times it's just when they DONT sell out!

Even more, it's about WHO they are and who they
became, on their JOURNEY, that often ATTRACTS back tor
them their FAME and ultimate fortune.
