Dear Mr. Pot Belly Tin Horn,

That's how I would have titled my irate
"Dear Sir" letter to the eBook sap who
just fleeced me out of my $97 bucks.

That's right. Even I get hosed from
time to time. What? I don't bleed just as you do?

Poor me. Boo-hoo.

I just got snookered again. Not badly though.

But reamed.

Reamed. Hosed. Snookered.

Will I name names? Like, who was it that bilked me
out of my lousy little $97 bucks?

No dirt chucking here. No names!

I won't tell you who they are.

But I will cry in my soup and hopefully
you'll cry along with me and I can save us
BOTH some headaches--and some money.

So lesson up.

==== Blind Compliance to An Authority Figure ==

People usually TRUST others who posture themselves
as people of authority. You and I were taught as kids
to listen to the cops and to TRUST people who are experts.

Yada-yada-yada. You know the drill.

People in uniforms, guys who are authors, tall pretty babes.

The works. We are conditioned to step aside for certain
AUTHORITY types. Teachers. Security people. The works.

That's why marketing companies use famous celebrities
to endorse whatever they are selling.

That's BECAUSE people lose their sense of logic if
what is being sold is being hawked by someone
perceived as someone with status, clout and who
Peacocks themselves around as some sort of know-it-all expert.

So anyway, now I'm down $97 bucks.

I won't war and peace you to death on HOW I got
into this pencil neck Geeks sales funnel. But I did.

I bought his eBook for $97 and it's utter rubbish.

It's thinly veiled around loosely conjectured content
and I doubt the guy could even spell the word relevant.

So why did I bite? Why did I buy this guys dribble?

I saw all of his testimonials. His bio seemed legit
and at least the guy can write convincing copy.

Actually his ad copy was the pretty darn hot. White hot actually.

I gotta give the guy that much.

Hark unto me though. Screwed again.

Here is the bottom line:

Here is the (one) sentence to ask yourself
the next time YOU become a ZOMBIE and you, like me,
sometimes lay down and start to get hypnotized by someone
proclaiming to be an AUTHORITY on something.

== USE THIS TECHNIQUE ==

Here's the single QUESTION to ask yourself.

And it's this.

The next time you are about to BUY something on-line
from a self proclaimed GURU, just before you
start twitching and your fingers start to search for your CC card.

ASK yourself this question.

"Is this person who seems to be an authority an EXPERT?"

That single sentence is worth $5,000 to you.

That itsy bitsy little sentence will FORCE
your MIND to stop, analyze and measure whether you
are knee jerking into compliance JUST because the person
is exercising POSTURE or whether or not the person
ACTUALLY is an expert.

THAT question will FORCE your smarter side to LOCATE
the answer or hey, you will see that there is NO evidence at
all to the guys authenticity.

And you will SAVE yourself some $$ and your time.

Bottom line #2

STOP kissing butt, following people and assuming
just because someone has POSTURE and POISE and
because they APPEAR to have know how and authority.

THAT doesn't always = EXPERT.

JUST because the guy RUNS conference calls
doesn't make him an expert dog-gone-it.

They all have "the greatest product ever" testimonials.

EVERYONE and his brother sells the GREATEST
PRODUCT or how-to course on earth.

EVERYONE is RICH and there is so much crap on the internet
that sometimes we get confused as to WHAT is real and what is
Tom Foolery.

So what?

So buttons.

So we ASSUME that just because someone is an
author that they are an EXPERT. Yawn.

Well, just because some twit wrote a book and
appears to be a know-it-all dictator doesn't wash with me.

Always remember the $1,000,000 question.

A second ago I said this was the FIVE thousand
dollar question. Cancel that.

This is genius.

Make it a Million.

ALWAYS test the B.S. meter and ASK:

"WHAT makes this person of authority an EXPERT?"

Show me!

WHERE is the F.REE sample?

I live in Missouri, “The Show Me State”, show me!

WHAT else have they ever written or taught?

Do they have any THIRD PARTY endorsements
and having a bunch of his downline or FRIENDS
say (this guy rocks!) so is so late 1999 it makes me hurl with disgust.

Yeah I am peeved. Not at the guy really, but miffed at myself.

How could Mr. Zombie ALPHA CODE (me!) been snookered
but yet ANOTHER time.

Call me an easy mark because that's what I suppose I am.

I'm a sitting duck, a Patsy, the whole nine yards.

BUT no more darn-it-all.

authors and frauds.

Guys, this is a life's experience. Even I still get snookered.

I make mistakes. I am human.

I sometimes get taken for a ride just like the next guy.

However, if you ASK yourself, HAS this person PROVEN
to me that they are an EXPERT you are FORCING yourself
to give you cognitive FACTUAL examples.

PS: They say expert salesmen are the easiest marks.

I guess that's true. Anyway, that's what happened to me
recently and even though a tad embarrassing, I located a
LESSON to be learned and wanted to share this with everyone.

Even if I had to look like a big fat jerk in the process.

We're all friends anyway so, whatever.
